For my very first styled photoshoot, I wanted to do something unique that represents me, as a stylist/planner, and something very close to home. I grew up in south OC near Laguna Beach so I grew up next to the beach every summer. Summer time meant two things; brunch and beach. Nothing was more perfect then getting together with friends for brunch and then heading off to the beach for the rest of the day. About two years ago, I moved to the Inland Empire and the scenery is completely different. It takes about one hour or more to get to the nearest beach and it's just so hot during the summer months. Driving down the 91 and 15, all you see are hills and at times, it's all brown. It is definitely a different scene then driving down PCH. I wanted to incorporate the desert and beach in one shoot.
I came across Elmer's Bottle Tree Ranch and I instantly fell in love with the place. Elmer spent over 15 years building all the bottle tree's. He took junk/trash and made it into art. If you're lucky, Elmer will be there to greet you. He is so sweet and we are so glad we were able to shoot on his property.
I wanted to incorporate bright and bold colors that represented summer! I chose the color orange to represent the sun and shades of blue to represent the colors of the water. I love how the couple is surrounded by different colors of glass bottles and its as if they’re in their own world. I want readers to see this shoot as an inspiration that you can have some of your favorite summer activities incorporated into your own summer wedding. This shoot goes out to all my fellow brunch and beach lovers!
A BIG thanks to all the wonderful vendors that took part in this shoot. Thank you Michael Ryu for the amazing photos!
